“I am only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I

can do something; And just because I cannot do everything, I will

not refuse to do the something that I can do."  --  Helen Keller

This quote from Helen Keller sums up FHC’s mission statement.  We firmly believe in the power of one.  A waterfall starts with a single drop of water, and just look at the beauty which flows from that.  We believe that each one can help one, and that this will create what is commonly known as the “snowball” effect.  You may be just one person but you have power beyond what you can imagine.  You have the power to create an impact and to make a difference in the life of a child.  And you can do this today.  Right now.  Just you.  Just by reaching out to a child, you can help make the world a better place.

FHC’s mentoring program for children whose parents are incarcerated is in need of mentors for children between ages 4 and 17.  To find out more about our program, please call 254-883-3004 and speak to Shirley King, FHC’s executive director.
